My last excursion with a Fun Factory toy was their delectable Delight Vibe, so when I got the opportunity to take another of their products out for a test-drive, courtesy of Babeland.com, I sure wasn't going to pass it up!

I wavered back and forth between Fun Factory's ribbed G Twist, with their standard dial control at the base, in subdued, fairly dignified colors, and Babeland's exclusive Boss Lady, which came with Delight-esque push button controls and an intriguing "power booster" button their standard models lack. Problem? It's ZOMGWTFPWNBBQ HOT PINK. I kind of despise pink. But in the battle of Pink vs. Power Booster, the turbo button won out, and I soon found myself fondling the radioactive pink silicone Boss Lady while waiting for my AAA batteries to charge.

Appearance & Construction Like I said, the Boss Lady is PINK. I mean, the photo here doesn't do it justice. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was some kind of solidified alien ectoplasm. It's HOLY CRAP EYE-MELTING PINK. And the most amazing thing about it is that this little powerhouse actually made me forget about the color. Or at least not mind the color so much, because it's not a color you can really forget. Seriously.

Moving on past the color, which is surprisingly easy to do, the Boss Lady is made of the absolutely bestest vibrator silicone EVER. You may think that's an exaggeration, like my description of the color perhaps, but really it's not. Feeling up the silicone was almost enough to make me forgive the color before I even turned it on. This vibe feels downright scrumptious. It's velvety and squeezable, but still firm enough to be eminently functional.

I've heard stories about Fun Factory vibrators having difficult battery compartments, and I don't know if their usual dial-control design is harder to operate than the Boss Lady, but I had no problems with the battery compartment whatsoever. While it is true that the plastic bottom end of the vibe feels like the cheapest part, construction-wise, it's certainly nothing that interferes with the function or detracts overly from the form.

Function & Features Again, like it's distant cousin the Delight, the Boss Lady comes with multiple increasingly-intense steady vibration settings, and three pulsing vibration patterns. And holy crap does it vibrate. I've never used a stand-alone insertable vibe that put out the kind of sensation this one does. I don't know how much of that is due to Fun Factory's actual motor design, and how much is down to the vibration-transmitting qualities of their irresistable silicone, but wowzers.

When I had it turned up to maximum power, I didn't think the power booster button would even be noticeable, and it maybe isn't enough of an intensity boost to really tip you over the edge if the regular settings aren't enough, but it does make for a nice little bit of variety on top of the built-in settings.

One thing to keep in mind before investing in your own Boss Lady though is the size. She's a big-un in the world of insertable vibes. At almost 7 inches insertable length and 1 3/5 in. diameter, the Boss Lady pretty much demands lube for all but the most accomodating users. Some women may find the size is too much to handle enjoyably, so do consider whether you like girthy toys before shelling out for this one. I personally considered the size an enjoyable bonus. No complaints here!

Oh, and did I mention the noise??? I think this toy has the hands-down best power-to-noise ratio of any vibrator I've ever tried. Seriously, there is no noise to complain about. I mean, of course there's a leetle buzzing, but odds are if you like it half as much as I did, you'll be making enough noise to drown the Boss Lady out!

Technique & Conclusion This vibe is designed to stimulate your g-spot, along with everything else at the same time. Unlike a lot of g-spotting toys with narrow shafts and specially angled bulbs designed to create localized g-spot stimulation, the Boss Lady's girth means everything it touches definitely feels the effect. The curved shaft and pronounced ridge along the top of the head do give the g-spot noticeable extra stimulation, but I found the vibrations near the base were so strong I could even feel the buzzing in my clit!

What probably surprised me most about this toy though, is the fact that it's also one of the best clit vibes I own. I mean, it's obviously designed primarily for insertion, but the way Fun Factory's luscious silicone transmits vibration while still being soft enough to push against without discomfort is just unbelievable … Hey, Fun Factory, if you're listening, you seriously need to make a pocket-rocket sized clit vibe with a generous bulb of this silicone on the end. I will buy it IMMEDIATELY.

While I have yet to achieve my ultimate toy goal of a mind-blowing, squirting, no-clit-vibe-needed g-spot orgasm, I will say the Boss Lady easily achieved at least mind-blowing status when accompanied right at the end by a little bit of Pocket Rocket action. This automatically elevates this toy above almost all my others, as well as a goodly percentage of my past human partners. *ahem*

Ladies, if you can get past the color (and you won't know until you see it in person, because digital imaging can not yet replicate this particular shade of pink), and you like your vibes on the larger side, I feel entirely comfortable giving the Boss Lady two thumbs up. I do love my Hitachi. I love my Hitachi so very much. But sometimes the cord is just a hassle, and it's too cumbersome for partner play. So, when I spotted the more compact & rechargeable Acuvibe Mini, in Babeland's review newsletter, I just had to give it a go, and boy am I glad I did!

Appearance & Construction: Much like the Hitachi and full-size Acuvibe, the Acuvibe Mini is a utilitarian looking toy. The body is made of hard plastic, and the vibrating head sits on a short flexible neck. There's a slight nub on one side of the head, but I suspect that's more useful for actual muscle massage than for recreational purposes. Of course, it's my luck to get the pink Mini to review, because the universe has a sense of humor like that, but it also comes in a neutral bluish-gray (as shown).

The Acuvibe Mini is roughly half the size of the Hitachi, and the big, huge, tremendous advantage is the built-in rechargeable power supply. Plug it in for 8 hours when you get it, plug it in every 2–3 uses after that, and you're set. No cumbersome cord tying you to the wall.

Function & Features: The Acuvibe Mini is a basic one-speed, non-insertable vibrator. The vibration intensity is roughly equivalent to the Low setting on a Hitachi Magic Wand, but at a seemingly slower vibration frequency (which may be a good or bad thing for different users … it's mostly a neutral difference to me).

It's pretty innocuous-looking, making it appealing for partner play with guys who aren't thrilled to invite gigantic fake dicks into bed with them, and you can even sneak it between the sheets by starting out using it for an effective back massage! This little bugger is perfectly strong enough to use for innocent, legitimate massage.

And, have I mentioned it's rechargeable?! ;-) These days I really can't see any reason to make your customers mess with replacing batteries all the time. Rechargeable power supplies have really come a long way in the size/weight department.

The answer is a resounding YES! I first tried Naked lube with the Delight vibrator (and with the soft texture of the silicone end, you definitely want to use lube with the Delight). It worked phenomenally well. A half hour later, the lube hadn't disappeared or gotten uncomfortably sticky (both problems with a lot of water/glycerin-based lubricants). Definitely a match made in heaven.

A few nights later, I grabbed the bottle to use with a friend. When he first saw the gel consistency of the lube in my hand, he asked, "Does it work?" I had wondered the same thing at first. It comes out of the pump as a drip-free gel, but there isn't a hint of tackiness when you rub it on yourself, your partner, or your toy. After a couple seconds of thorough "hands-on application" from me, he was convinced too. ;-)

I will say that Naked started to get a little tacky after a solid hour of energetic "testing" … but rather than applying more lube, all that's needed is a little extra moisture. How does it work as massage 'oil' though?

Much to my surprise, I thought it worked great. With the candle burning, and the wax dripped onto my skin from about a foot above me, the heat of the melted wax was pleasantly intense, but nowhere near actually burning. It provided just the right amount of lubrication for a massage, didn't soak in as quickly as lotion would, and didn't dribble all over the place like oil. I never would have thought of using soy wax as a massage 'oil', but I was really impressed.

If you frequently have issues with major brand condoms breaking, Mamba condoms may be just what you've been looking for. These natural rubber "rubbers" are quite possibly the most durable condoms I've ever seen. Truly, they don't break (well, I'm sure they might once in a while, but I couldn't figure out how!).

Conclusion:

The Delight vibrator is definitely aptly named. Although I have yet to reach the big O without using the tip of the silicone end as a clit vibe at the end, the "foreplay" before that is better than any toy I've ever tried. I've honestly never used a vibe before this where I found myself perfectly happy not rushing to orgasm ASAP. I spent a good half hour happily trying different angles for the vibe, and my hips, and my legs (it stays in place hands-free quite nicely when you squeeze your thighs together).

If you're a fan of less intense vibrators already, but haven't found a g-spotter that quite works for you, or you need a little extra clit stimulation while using one, or you can appreciate a vibe that does an unbelievable job of bringing you right to the edge of orgasm, and holding you there for what seems like forever, you'll find the Delight quite delightful indeed.

The rest of the Eco Delight kit makes a lovely collection together, but I would say the lube is the only other "must have" item in the bunch (unless you're in the market for bulletproof condoms, that is). However, considering Babeland offers the kit for the same price as the vibe alone, if you're going to get a Delight go ahead and treat yourself to the gift pack. You definitely won't regret the investment!

Luna Beads are marketed as an exercise aid for toning your pelvic floor muscles; an alternative to doing kegel exercises, if you will. They're rather like a large set of ben wa balls, with a silicone harness to keep them in position for optimal effect. Optimal exercise effect, that is, because on the grand scale of things to induce sexual excitement, they really didn't do much for me.

Appearance/Construction: Luna Beads come in a downright elegant and sturdy black storage box. There are two pairs of semi-translucent balls, a pink pair and a blue pair, with a white silicone harness. The kit also comes with a classy little drawstring pouch to store your assembled set (perfect if you want to carry them with you). Everything about Luna Beads is definitely high quality, and aesthetically tasteful.

The hollow outer beads are made of PC-ABS plastic, with weighted rubberized balls inside each sphere. They fit, via molded ridges, into the durable silicone harness (awkwardly called a "composition girdle" in the user manual). One ball in each color coded set has a synthetic loop of string (the "retraction leash"), to facilitate removal.

Features & Usage: Each pair of colored ABS beads provide a different level of exercise. The light pink balls are 28 grams each, and the light blue balls are 37 grams apiece. Depending on the current fitness level of your pelvic floor muscles (PC muscles), you can wear one ball in the harness, wear both 28g balls, one of each set, or both 37g balls at once (at which point you can tell people you have blue balls … sorry, couldn't resist that one!).

According to the user manual (and I do suggest reading it … which is a rarity in the relatively self-explanatory world of sex toys) simply inserting one or two balls in the silicone harness, and wearing them for 30 minutes a day will auto-magically exercise your PC muscles the same way diligent kegels will.

Technique: Put simply, insert the assembled bead/harness set, and go on about your business.

The manual recommends starting with one or two of the lighter-weight balls at first, until your muscles get used to them. Personally, I didn't have any trouble wearing both of the heavier balls right from the start, but if you've given birth, your pelvic muscles might be in need of a little more strengthening than that.

Conclusion: Some women claim their Luna Beads make activities like climbing stairs or riding a stationary bicycle a whole new experience. Sadly, either because I have vaginal muscles of steel or I'm just an insensitive cow, I hardly noticed them most of the time. I wore them all day at work once, and didn't notice much of anything except an ocassional "shifting" sensation when the weighted balls moved around. Luna Beads would be more properly thought of as a "sexual health aid" than an actual sex toy. While (apparently) some women find them quite stimulating to wear, buying a set thinking you're going to have the long, slow orgasm of your life would probably be a mistake. However, if you keep meaning to do kegels regularly, but keep blowing it off like any other well-intentioned exercise regimen, they're an easy and relatively fun way to achieve the same effect.

If you're looking for a really exciting way to work your pelvic muscles, I'd suggest a remote control toy like the Cry Baby (an insertable bullet vibe with a remote control … just imagine the mischief you could get into with a willing accomplice!). However Luna Beads are intended primarily as a muscle-toning aid, not an orgasm machine, and the benefits of strong pelvic floor muscles are many and varied! This little vibe arrived in one of the hands-down classiest packages I've ever seen a sex toy packed in. Of course, that's got nothing to do with how it performs, but it definitely got my attention to start things off. By the time I was done with my first test drive, I was quite pleased to see that the contents of the package lived up to my first impression.

LOOKS: If you find yourself feeling self-conscious about buying sex toys, because they're usually packaged in see-through plastic, and half of 'em have naked people cavorting around on the labels, you'll appreciate the bNaughty waterproof bullet vibe at first sight! As for the vibe itself, there are three colors available: A deep red, a warm mahogany and simple, classic black, all with a nice, matte finish, which, for some reason, just looks classier than regular old shiny plastic. Top it all off with a nice drawstring storage bag, and the whole presentation makes you feel like you're really treating yourself to something special.

CONSTRUCTION: I'm not sure how they managed to get such a velvety-soft finish on what is essentially your basic, plastic egg vibrator, but it's fantastic. The cord connecting the egg to the controller is covered in color-matched plastic, with reinforcing collars at both ends to protect it from wearing out. The faster/slower buttons are covered with a flexible plastic membrane, and are easy to use whether or not you're looking at the controls.

FEATURES: The bNaughty is waterproof, first and foremost. Not "water resistant" (which is code for "it might be OK in the shower, but forget about the bathtub), but actually billed as waterproof. It has 4 vibration speeds, ranging from "barely a tickle" to "oh MY", with idiot proof controls (up arrow = faster, down arrow = slower), and an easy-access screw-off battery compartment cover. The one feature that would be *really* nice is having a rechargeable built-in battery, but I've bought quite a few rechargeable AA battery sets, so I always have a few extra around.

TECHNIQUE: To be perfectly honest, the bNaughty did not have the horsepower to get the job done by itself, for me. Not that I don't still like the little thing, because I do … it just needed a little help in my case. Luckily, I had my trusty Pocket Rocket handy, and that was all the bNaughty needed to go from "oh MY" to "OHMYGAWD". It's kind of a similar effect to a rabbit vibe, but you have a lot more control over the pocket rocket than you ever do over the position of the rabbit's built-in bullet. (Best of all, the nice little bag the bNaughty comes with is plenty big enough to tuck the Pocket Rocket in with it.)

CONCLUSION: If you're satisfied with less-intense vibrators, the bNaughty might do the job for you just fantastically. If you need a little more oomph, the bNaughty is a fantastic companion to your favorite clit vibe, and adds some serious zing to oral sex! It would probably also be outstanding for prostate stimulation, but you might want to put a condom on it, to give you something more than just the power cord to help pull it out.

The Hitachi Magic Wand lives up to it's reputation. If the Rabbit Habit is a well-meaning guy who isn't quite getting it right, but manages to get the job done anyway, the Hitachi is an anonymous screamingly-orgasmic quickie in a public restroom.

LOOKS: The Magic Wand looks like something out of a medical supply catalog. There's nothing even vaguely beautiful or sexy about this toy. It was designed as a muscle massager, and it shows. You could leave it lying around the house, and nobody (who didn't already own one themselves) would be any the wiser as to its x-rated applications.

CONSTRUCTION: The massaging head is a slightly flattened ball of vinyl (?) covered padding, connected by a short neck to a gigantic white plastic handle, with an electrical cord hanging off the other end. It seems built sturdily enough that you could bludgeon someone with it in the afternoon, and still use it to "massage" yourself to sleep later that night.

FEATURES: A two speed on-off switch. The speeds are marked as "low" and "high", but I think that's code for "almost unbearably strong" and "for use on major muscle groups only". No fancy bells and whistles here; Hitachi designed this beast to do one thing, and one thing only: relax sore muscles. The fact that it's also the most notoriously reliable orgasm generator known to womankind is a bonus feature.

TECHNIQUE: Yes, the vibrations are as intense as everyone says, and that is one of the complaints many people have about the Magic Wand: The vibrations are actually too much to bear for some. In fact, I find it works better through a blanket, or a pair of jeans, or some other protective barrier, because while the vibrating head is cushioned, it's not quite cushioned enough for direct-skin contact for me. And I'd advise you to take a rest between orgasms, because otherwise (even with extra padding), the relentless vibration WILL make your clit go numb … VERY quickly.

CONCLUSION: I need to get the Gee Whiz attachment for my Magic Wand. I have a feeling the Hitachi will put to rest forever my complaint that vibes designed for penetration are never quite strong enough to do the job. But even without fancy attachments, you'd better believe this baby is staying permanently plugged in next to my bed. I think my Pocket Rocket is going to get really jealous.

If you're looking for efficiency in an orgasm, you can't go wrong with this toy! Oh, and it's not bad for sore shoulders either… ;-)

Ah that infamous personal massager, it's name being synonymous with vibrations more intense than most toys, I'd been curious. I got the Hitachi Magic Wand and was not let down in the least! Just looking at it reminds you that it's not really intended for masturbation purposes, with a sphereish padded vinyl head (just over 2" tall and a circumference just under 8") and a flexible neck attaching it to a hard plastic handle that's just over 9" long, it looks so innocent… And with a power cord rather than batteries, this has quickly become my favorite toy!

This sucker has two setting, both capable of giving you quick and intense orgasms. The low setting seems to have more of a bass like vibrations while the high setting seems more treble like. If the vibrations prove to much for you, it still works wonders through fabric of your choosing (pants, towel, etc). I love that the head seems to be able to just nestle itself into your nether regions and engulf it in intense vibrations. So if you're looking for intense penetrating vibrations (but don't mind going without penetration), I highly recommend it!

Overall, I give it an 8. It'd probably get a 10 if I had the Gee Whiz attachment, though ;)

Yeah! The Hitachi Magic Wand! For all those out there who have the "Fuck Foreplay" mentality, this is the toy for you. Cum hard, cum now, cum often.

The wand itself is rather large (about a foot long), corded, slightly unwieldly (the boyfriend joked it was a two-hander), and loud. But the simple joy of climaxing again and again with little or no time or effort makes it well worth it.

A note about usage: It was designed to work out muscles, and is a little aggressive for those with sensitive clitoral areas (and who doesn't have a sensitive clitoris?). I found using the wand over a couple layers of cloth works quite well (panties & pajama pants, for example). I've only ever used the Wand on the LOW setting. I was instantly interested simply because it's that one vibrator mentioned on Sex and the City. That and I go nowhere without (and usually only) clitoral stimulation, so it looked like one I could enjoy! I certainly did, though I enjoyed it a lot more while only using the rabbit and leaving the shaft and pearls turned off (the rabbit also vibrates more intensely when used on its own).

The shape and size of the pink sparkly penis is perfect, for me at least. When using all features though, I did notice how hard to was to actually feel the twirling action of the shaft. And the pearls, while enjoyed, need a motor with more oomph, as they stall at a mere kegel squeeze or moving/thrusting the Habit at any angle other than parallel with yourself. The Elastomer Rabbit Habit: Great in theory, so-so in practice. The elastomer material was fantastic … latex & pthalate free, it maintained delightful feel & playability without toxic plastic smell, or that tell-tale vaginal dryness that comes with some plastics.

The Rabbit comes with two motor control switches: One for the bullet-vibe rabbit, and one for the shaft/pearl contraption. The shaft rotates at a 15º angle, while the beads rotate around on tracks to stimulate the vaginal opening. Sounds fabulous, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, the motor in the shaft was so weak that it wouldn't maintain rotation while inserted unless it was turned all the way up. Even then, if you're the kind of girl who enjoys their stimulation at any sort of an angle, any significant added pressure also stops the motor. So, one is left holding the vibrator still, and allowing it to do "its thing."

LOOKS: OK, I'm not thrilled with the purple/sparkly look. Really, it's just not my style. I'd be thrilled if they offered a Rabbit Habit in black, or red, or blue, or any non-see-through, non-sparkly color except pink. But there you go. It's transparent lavender/purple, with iridescent sparkles.

CONSTRUCTION: This model of Rabbit vibe is made of elastomer, which is softer than vinyl, and safer than jelly. Jelly vibes are made with a mix of materials, some of which are softened with chemicals called pthalates, which are suspected of causing hormonal disruption and possibly linked to cancer … in short, I won't use ANY jelly toy, no matter how fun the squishable-yet-firm texture may be. Elastomer, on the other hand, has roughly the same texture as jelly materials, but is both pthalate and latex free (important for folks who're allergic to latex!), so there's no strange chemical worries.

The base of this Rabbit model is made of old-fashioned tan plastic, and all the little parts inside are made of a mix of plastic and metal. (On my vibe, the sliding battery compartment door doesn't seem to latch very snugly, but since I suspect Rabbit vibes aren't really intended for rough play, this hasn't been a problem.)

FEATURES
THE EXTERNAL RABBIT BULLET VIBE: Babeland's page for the Elastomer Rabbit Habit mentions that the angle of the external rabbit vibe was changed for better clit contact during use, and after looking at the picture of the original Rabbit Habit, and the similar Rabbit Pearl, I'm wondering if I'm shaped oddly! ;-) The fact that I can't get a more upright Rabbit combined with the pthalate free material is a shame. That said, the elastomer IS flexible enough for you to reposition the rabbit somewhat after the dildo is fully inserted.

Finding the right speed for the bullet vibe is a little tricky … just when you think you've got it perfect, you change the setting on the shaft control and the rabbit suddenly changes intensity. Good thing the sliders are right there on top, and easy to operate …

THE SPINNING "PEARLS": I was expecting these to be the real knockout feature of the Rabbit Habit, but when I first tried it out, I couldn't even feel them! What a letdown … until a few minutes later, just when I got close to orgasm, and all of a sudden, "HOLY HELL! THE BEADS!" However, if I got overly enthusiastic and squeezed down on the bead section, they stopped moving. After a few more tries, just to make sure, the results were consistent: I didn't notice the fancy spinning beads until right at the end, but boy, just so long as I didn't squeeze too hard, I was really glad they were there.

NOTE: It seems that all of Vibratex's other Rabbit-style vibes are made of vinyl, which should give them a firmer feel, but they have the loose "pearl" beads, which apparently stop moving even easier than the beads on fixed tracks featured on the elastomer model.

THE ROTATING SHAFT: The rotating shaft is a mixed blessing. When I tried to hold the Rabbit in my hand the whole time it was running, the plastic battery compartment wiggled in my hand, no matter how hard I tried to hold it steady. However, when I got the shaft at the angle I wanted it, and then squeezed my legs together to hold it steady, the rotating shaft started doing its thing, and did it well. I've never had a dildo, vibrating or not, that actually provided g-spot stimulation I noticed before this one, and I must say I rather like it!

TECHNIQUE: After a few tries (and then a few tries more, just for fun), I got the hang of the Habit, and here are my tips: Find a good angle for the shaft, and rather than trying to "shove" it into the sweet spot, clamp your legs down to hold it in place (personally, the rotating/beads thing didn't do a thing for me unless it was turned all the way up, but you might be more sensitive to the sensations than I was). Turn the shaft up until you notice it moving inside you, then adjust the position & setting on the external vibe until it's where you want it. Then lay back and wait.

After a few minutes it snuck up on me. As someone who's never been able to masturbate to orgasm with anything but direct clitoral stimulation, the level of vaginal sensation was surprising … it wasn't an earth-shattering, bedsheet-clawing, screaming orgasm, but it was definitely unlike anything I've ever felt from a toy.
